Description

I will be making concept drawings of the new characters from the Super Smash Bros roster I posted. I will also give explanations about their move sets as well as why I think they would make good character additions. My first idea is Toad from the Mario franchise. Toad has made consistent appearances since Super Mario Bros and had several playable appearances. He even went out with Mario on his adventures on several occasions. Therefore, I believe that he is an important Mario representative. His abilities could reflect his stats from Super Mario Bros 2. For example, he could be a fast character but have kind of a weak jump.

B: Spore Spit

Toad spits out a cloud of spores to inflict damage on an opponent. This is similar to how he spat out a spore cloud in Brawl when Peach used him as her B move. However, this time it wouldn’t used as a counter attack.

B →: Mushroom Block

Toad throws out a block shaped mushroom from over his head out in front of him to inflict damage on opponents. The mushroom bounces several times as it hits the terrain. Toad can pick up the mushroom to throw it again, but it will disappear after a while. Also, he can only have one out at a time.

B ↑: Propeller Cap

Toad spins up into the air as a propeller cap appears on his head and he floats down to the ground. This move doesn’t inflict damage when he’s spinning upward. However, if the player holds the analog stick down while in midair, then he can do a downward spin attack which does combo damage on opponents. This move could make up for his weak jump.

B ↓: Vegetable

This is similar to Peach’s version of the attack, except Toad pulls up green peppers. Toad’s vegetables have a stronger hit than Peach’s, but the vegetables will disappear after one hit. This means that he can’t repeatedly catch and throw the vegetable the same way Peach can.

Final Smash: Starshroom

Toad boards the Starshroom which the player can slowly move with the analog stick. While he’s in the Starshroom, Toad can emit waves of electricity to do damage to opponents. Also, any opponent that gets caught in the tractor beam below will gravitate onto the Starshroom making it easier for Toad to hit with an electrical charge.
